Remarks

The DOCX reader degrades a drawing it cannot convert — a w:drawing with no placement, a w:pict holding a bare v:textbox — to the text inside it, added as text runs and line breaks just before the preserved island that holds the drawing itself. The runs make the text visible to every consumer; the island is what a DOCX save writes back. Until Phase 72 the runs were written as well, so each load-and-save added another copy of the text to the file.

The DOCX writer leaves out a synthesized inline when the inlines after it, up to the first one that is not synthesized, end in a preserved island: the one it was made from. Delete the island, or put other content between, and the inline is written as any other. Other writers, which cannot write the island, write it as they write any inline.

Set it to false to make the inline the document's own.
