SynthesizedFormat

Gets or sets the formatting a reader inferred for this paragraph rather than read from it, or null when it inferred none.

public ParagraphFormat? SynthesizedFormat { get; set; }

Property Value

ParagraphFormat

Remarks

A reader that cannot model some content keeps it as a preserved island and may still apply what the content means to Format, so that every consumer sees it: the DOCX reader turns a legacy VML horizontal rule (a thin, absolutely positioned v:rect) into a top border and an exact line height. Those values were never in the source's w:pPr, and the island they came from is written back with the paragraph, so writing them as well would add to the file something it did not say. This property records them.

The DOCX writer leaves out each property recorded here that Format still holds with the recorded value, as long as the paragraph still holds a preserved island for it to have come from. A value changed after loading is the document's own and is written; so is everything when the island is gone. Other writers, which cannot write the island, write the inferred values as they write any formatting, and so does the layout: a PDF shows the rule.

Set it to null to make the inferred values the document's own.
