Fields

Horizontal = 0

Upright text, left to right. The default.

Vertical = 1

Turned a quarter turn clockwise: the text reads top to bottom.

Rotate270 = 2

Turned a quarter turn counter-clockwise: the text reads bottom to top.

Remarks

Measured against the reference (Phase 79, prop-writingmode): Vertical turns the text a quarter turn clockwise, reading down from the content box's top with its first baseline one ascent in from the right; Rotate270 a quarter turn the other way, reading up from the bottom with its first baseline one ascent in from the left. Either way the text is laid out along the box's height and does not grow it.
