- ClipboardFragment
What cut and copy put on the clipboard (A.4.4): an RDL fragment, which is a minimal 2016 report whose body holds the copied items. It reads back with the ordinary reader, pastes into another report, and survives a trip through any text clipboard.
- DataDesigner
A report's data sources and datasets as Report Builder's "Report Data" pane edits them: add, rename, remove, the query, query parameters, calculated fields and filters, every edit one undo entry. A data source carries only a name and a provider kind: the connection is the host's (its
DataSourceResolver), so nothing secret is ever written into the report.
- DesignBand
A band on the design surface: the body, or a page header or footer that the report defines. Two bands over the same element are equal.
- DesignIssue
A validation finding shown in the designer.
- DesignSelection
What is selected on the surface. Immutable; the document replaces it.
- DesignUnits
The designer's units (Appendix A.1): integer twips in the model, inches for display, CSS pixels only at the surface's emit boundary. Every constant the interaction contract names lives here, in twips.
- DesignValidator
Validation for the designer: the engine's own
ReportValidatorplus the rules an author trips while editing: duplicate or empty names, an item outside its band, and an expression naming a field or parameter the report does not have (which a paste from another report leaves in place, flagged, A.4.4).
- DesignerDocument
The open report as the designer sees it: the definition tree, the undo stack, the selection, and every mutation the surface and the chrome can ask for, each a reversible command. The designer is the only writer; nothing mutates the tree except through Execute(IDesignCommand).
- EmbeddedImageStore
The report's embedded images (
EmbeddedImages/EmbeddedImage): list, add, remove, and find the unused.
- ItemAction
An item's action: Report Builder's "Action" page of the text box and image properties.
- ItemActions
Reads and writes an item's action as RDL holds it:
ActionInfo/Actions/Actionfrom RDL 2008,Actiondirectly on the item in RDL 2005. Every edit is one undo entry; an action the designer does not model (several actions, or markup of a later schema) is kept until it is replaced.
- ItemRegistry
The registered item kinds. The palette is generated from it (A.7.1); a kind the engine refuses to draw is not in it.
- PageSetup
Page setup (size, orientation, margins, columns) and the body height, each edit one undo entry.
- ParameterDesigner
Report parameters and the 2016 parameter pane layout (A.10.1), every edit one undo entry.
- ParameterGrid
A read view of the parameter layout grid.
- ReportItemDescriptor
What the designer knows about one kind of report item (A.7.2): where it sits in the palette, its icon and label, its default size, the element it emits, the property sections the grid shows, and the schematic it draws on the surface. Items are registered, never hard-coded; adding one is adding a descriptor.
- ReportProperties
The report's own properties, Report Builder's "Report Properties": description, author, language, default font, auto-refresh, whitespace, custom code and report variables. Every edit is one undo entry; a property the file's schema version does not know is refused rather than written into a file its own server would reject.
- ReportWizard
The report wizard: builds a table, matrix or chart from a dataset and the fields the author arranges, with an optional title, below whatever the body already holds, as one undo entry. The pieces are the designer's own builders and editors, so what the wizard makes is what placing and editing by hand would make.
- SchematicEllipse
An ellipse inside a box (pies, gauges).
- SchematicLine
A straight line.
- SchematicPolyline
A polyline or polygon in twips: the arcs, needles and bar outlines of the data-visualisation schematics.
- SchematicRect
A rectangle, outlined and optionally filled.
- SchematicShape
One primitive of an item's design-time rendering, in twips relative to the item's top-left corner. The surface draws these as SVG.
- SchematicText
Text in a box; expression text is drawn in the expression colour with the fx glyph (A.7.4).
- SmartGuideResult
The result of snapping a dragged box to its neighbours.
- SmartGuides
Smart alignment guides (A.3.4): left, centre and right against every other item's left, centre and right, and the same vertically.
- TextFormatting
The formatting toolbar's edits on whole textboxes, where the engine reads them. From RDL 2008 the font, colour, decoration and number format live on every text run (a run's own style wins over the textbox's, and
Formatis read from the run only) and the horizontal alignment on every paragraph; in RDL 2005 all of them live on the textbox. One call is one undo entry, however many textboxes and runs it touches.
- WizardSpec
The wizard's answers: Report Builder's New Table or Matrix and New Chart wizards in one shape.
Structs
- ItemBounds
An item's box in twips, relative to its band's origin.
- SchematicPoint
A point in twips.
- SmartGuide
A guide line the surface draws while a drag is snapped to a neighbour (A.3.4).
Enums
- Alignment
An alignment (A.6), relative to the selection's bounding box.
- BandKind
Which band of the page an item sits in.
- ItemActionKind
What clicking an item does in the viewer.
- PaletteGroup
The palette groups (decisions, item 14).
- ResizeHandle
A resize handle (A.3.2).
- SchematicAlign
Horizontal text alignment in a schematic.
- SelectionKind
The three selection states (A.2.1), mutually exclusive.
- WizardLayout
What the wizard builds.
