Classes

DataSourceAccessDeniedException

A request was refused before it was made: a host outside the allowlist, a redirect, a path outside the base directory.

DataSourceException

The base of every failure a ReportWright data source reports. The message never carries a connection string or a credential.

DataSourceExecutionOptions

The limits a query runs under. The router derives them from its options and the query's own timeout.

DataSourceInfo

A data source the host offers report authors: a name a report's DataSource can use and the provider kind behind it. It carries nothing secret (no connection string, path or credential), so a designer may list it.

DataSourceLimitExceededException

A limit was reached: the row cap, a response size cap. The run stops rather than continuing on part of the data.

DataSourceMetadataService

What a designer asks a server about a report's data at design time: does the source answer, which fields does a dataset yield, what do a few rows look like. Every answer is a client-facing type with no connection text and no credential; the ResolvedDataSource never leaves this class.

DataSourceNotResolvedException

The host's resolver returned nothing for a data source, or no provider is registered for its kind.

DataSourcePaths

Keeps a file-backed data source inside the directory the host resolved it to. A report's command text names a file; it is untrusted, so a rooted path, a drive, a parent segment or anything that resolves outside the base directory is refused before the file system is touched.

DataSourceProvider

Connects to one kind of data source: tests the connection, discovers a dataset's fields, and runs a dataset's query into a DocWright.Reporting.Data.ReportDataReader. Execution itself stays DocWright's seam — the DataSourceRouter is the DocWright.Reporting.Data.ReportDataProvider the engine sees, and it dispatches here by Kind.

DataSourceQueryException

The source refused or failed the query: a SQL error, a non-success HTTP status, an unparsable file.

DataSourceReference

A data source as the report states it: what the router hands the host's DataSourceResolver to turn into a ResolvedDataSource. Nothing here is a secret — a report's connect string is authored text, often empty or a placeholder, and the host decides what it means.

DataSourceRegistry

The providers a host registered, by kind. Built once at startup and read by every run.

DataSourceResolver

Turns a data source as a report states it into one a provider can connect to. The host implements this; it is where connection strings and credentials live, and the only place they are read.

DataSourceRouter

The one DocWright.Reporting.Data.ReportDataProvider the engine sees. For each dataset it asks the host's DataSourceResolver what the report's data source is, dispatches to the registered DataSourceProvider of that kind, and wraps the reader in the guard that enforces the row cap, the deadline and cancellation. A source the host does not resolve goes to the fallback provider when there is one, else is refused — never guessed.

DataSourceRouterOptions

What the router enforces on every query, whatever the provider does.

DataSourceTimeoutException

The query did not finish within its timeout.

DeclaredTypesDataProvider

Types the rows another provider returns by the fields the report declares: a column that arrives as text is converted to its field's rd:TypeName (Report Builder writes one on every field), so Sum, sorting and number formats see numbers and dates. Embedded XML data and other text-only sources need it; a column the inner provider already typed, a field without a declared type, and a value the type cannot hold are passed through unchanged, as the reference engine hands such a value over.

ReportDataQueryBuilder

Builds the query the engine would hand a provider for one dataset, from the definition alone — for design time, when no report is running: command text, parameters and connect string evaluated with the engine's own expression evaluator against the values supplied.

ResolvedDataSource

A data source as the host resolved it: what a provider needs to connect. This is where the secrets are, so it never leaves the server — no client-facing type refers to it, and ToString() prints the kind and the name only.

SharedDataSourceFile

Reads a Reporting Services shared data source file into a resolved source: an .rsds as the report server exports it (DataSourceDefinition) or an .rds from a Visual Studio report project (RptDataSource/ConnectionProperties). Host-side only: the file holds a connection string, which never leaves the server. The extension maps to a ReportWright provider kind (SQL, SQLAZURE and SQLPDW to SQL; XML stays); any other extension is kept, so a host may register a provider for it, and the router otherwise reports that none is registered.

StaticDataSourceResolver

A resolver over a fixed map of data source names, for hosts and tests with a known set.
